Pet Portrait: Pepper the Blue Heeler Mix
It’s been years since I’ve drawn my sister’s chiweenie and Yorkie, Luna and Ruby respectively, so it was about time that I finally got asked to draw her blue heeler mix, Pepper. For those who know her, then you’ll know that the fact that she sat still long enough to get a good reference photo of her is beyond shocking. She’s a very good girl, but she is a very energetic, good girl.

Time-Lapse Video: The footage was shot using the time-lapse feature on an iPhone 7, before using iMovie to bump it up an additional 6x-8x. Unfortunately I’m still not completely happy with the video quality, but it’s what I’m working with. Any suggestions?
Time Spent: 78 hours and 20 minutes
Up Next: I have a portrait of a super playful yellow lab to share, then I have a couple of commissions possibly lined up to move onto. In addition to those dog portraits, it is a real goal of mine to start sketching more regularly just to chip away the rust on that skillset of mine. We’ll see if that actually happens… Fingers crossed!
Until next time! Lauren H.
