Pet Portrait: Daphne the Boston Terrier
Meet Daphne, the younger sister of Dribbles, who I drew back in 2015. I don’t know if she learned it from her big brother (I do have a hunch it might just be a chaotic Boston Terrier trait), or if it is a quality unto herself, but apparently this reference photo is one of the few times she was caught not in motion.
Original Photo: Fortunately there was minimal editing required for this commission — especially in comparison to the previous commission of The Nouss Six. Just the typical adjustments to make the shadows across her face a little less harsh from the direct sunlight.
Ear Options: …Ok, so maybe I had to do slightly more than lighten up the shadows of the reference photo: I had to make up what the tips of Daphne’s ears look like. Which you wouldn’t think would be that big of a challenge — it’s just a tiny portion of both ears — but when I tell you that I stressed about this for far too long. Like… far too long. More than I stressed about the square inches of chest I made up, for crying out loud.
