Pet Portrait: Silas the Cat
Meet Silas the cat! You do not understand how stressful it was to obey the art rule of “draw what you see, not what you know,” but it’s not every day I have to add a color like blue to a pet’s fur tones! So much stress over something that in the end you can barely see, or even recognize at all, unless you know to look for it.
Original Photo: Speaking of unnecessary stress, I once again had to make up the absolute tiniest amount of ear for this portrait — as I did recently with the portrait of the Boston Terrier, Daphne — and I still managed to spend a ridiculous amount of time overthinking and redrawing it. I also lightened the photo slightly in order to add a bit more variety and depth to the fur, as is often the case.

Until next time!
