Pet Portrait: Zeus the Anatolian Shepherd
Meet Zeus, an Anatolian Shepherd (which I'd never heard of before) that hopefully didn't frivolously father as many children as the Greek god he is named after, though I would be OK with it slightly more so if one child inspired a Disney movie. Who put the glad in gladiator? Hercules!
Challenge: One challenge that sometimes comes up with reference photos is how to deal with the body of a dog, especially when it is laying down in a certain way. If I'm jut drawing the head/neck region of the dog then it would look weird to draw in signs of the leg and back unless they were fully realized, so I just have to go with what looks right. For Zeus, I was able to use a lot of the lines already there in such a way that made him look like he was sitting up.
