Marshall the Miracle Dog
Hi all! It's me again, and I am here to admit to a mistake. That's right, I too make mistakes. You see, throughout the handful of posts mentioning Marshall The Miracle Dog, from my process to finally being done, the one thing I never really did was explain what the book is actually about. Silly me.
The Book
Let's start at the beginning: Marshall was found by the Humane Society of Missouri a couple years ago on a neglected property, within the confines of a kennel that also housed around 60 other dogs. Though it isn't possible to know for sure, it is reasonable to assume that because of the lack of food provided to the dogs they were forced to fight for what was available. Based on the bite marks on Marshall's body it was clear that he wasn't the victor in such instances, suffering from a large hole in his cheek and a badly broken front leg that was made worse by infection.
Long story short (guess you'll just have to buy the book!), these dogs were rescued and Marshall was given the surgery he needed to set him on the road to recovery. It wasn't all physical healing needed, and it did take a little adjusting to get used to being trusting of people again, but after almost 2 years of being away from that pen and in a forever home with Cyndi WIllenbrock (the author), Marshall can be the happy, loving, and playful dog that he was always meant to be.
Reception Post Release
Marshall the Miracle Dog was launched about a month ago at the Humane Society of Missouri, a pretty fitting location considering it was where he was saved. The reception has far surpassed anything I ever expected to come out of this, and at the rate it is going it isn't hard to believe that it won't be stopping anytime soon. So thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read the book, share it with others, or simply just stopped by to pet Marshall at one of our many book signings around the STL area.
If you would like to learn more about Marshall or buy a copy of the book then please visit his site here, or swing by amazon.com for a copy here. I know you can't say no to this face:
No, not mine, Marshall's.
